Global Demand for lighting is forecasted to grow to $100 Billion Dollars by 2008. This demand is coming from new construction as well as the retrofitting of older construction designs in order to take advantage of energy efficiency as well as reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions. The most prominent design for HID lighting in the marketplace today incorporates electro-magnetic ballast technology that is a seventy year old antiquated technology.
